Gaston Rivière plays the hurdy-gurdy as well as other instruments. He passed the tradition down from his masters (Malochet, Guillemain) to the new generation of hurdy-gurdy players. He plays with an extraordinary delicacy, playing waltz melodically. He has been a huge influence on the evolution of this instrument.
